Description
Topkapı Palace, one of the iconic structures of Istanbul, has become a landmark for Istanbul in terms of being full of values that reflect the management style of a great empire and the phases it went through during the period, as well as the innovations it brought to the history of architecture and the works in it.
Topkapi Palace was built in 1460. When the palace was insufficient for the state protocol and ceremonies of the 19th century, the administration was moved to Dolmabahçe Palace in the early 1850s, and Topkapı Palace was used for the protection of the royal treasury and sacred relics. After the Ottoman monarchy was abolished in 1922, Topkapı Palace has been a museum since 1924.
Topkapı Palace’s 1st Courtyard, Divan-ı Hümayun and III.Murat Mansion are the subject; Miniatures taken from Hünername and Şehinşahname were collaged and stylized on the sides of Topkapı Mirror.
Topkapı Mirror is decorated with handwork using gilding. The production of Topkapı Mirror is limited to 1999 pieces. The serial number is shown at the bottom of the work and on its certificate.
