Description
The Neolithic city of Çatalhöyük (Konya), which was inhabited nine thousand years ago, was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2012 because it witnessed important social changes and developments such as the transition to settled social life, the beginning of agriculture and hunting. The bull head figure used on the vase symbolized god/protective power and rebirth in the historical process and has been used by hanging on the walls in houses and religious buildings since the neolithic age. On the body of the vase, the “bull hunt” scene taken from the Çatalhöyük wall paintings is depicted.
The Çatalhöyük Vase is made of handmade glass, and the relief patterns on it are all hand-decorated using 24- carat gold gilding.
